Courses 2023

last update : January 19th, 2023

The GlaGla Race 2023 will take place over 3 days. The races are scheduled for Saturday January 21 between 10:30 am and 4:30 pm (weather conditions permitting). Friday is reserved for entertainment, conferences, paddle yoga and sunday is a reserve day (in case the races cannot take place on Saturday), otherwise we can all go skiing !

Long Distance 2023 : 15 km

The long distance course is 15 km. It forms a loop from the village of Talloires, starts in front of the end of the lake and the Bauges mountain to return by the Roc de Chère after passing through Duingt, Sevrier and Menthon. The routes may be modified if the weather conditions require it.

Alternative route for the long distance in the event of a “North Bise”

The choice will be made on the morning of the start, or even during the race, there may be a change of route. Buoy no. 3 in Sévrier, the last on the left bank of the lake before crossing to Menthon, could be modified and doubled with an inflatable yellow buoy.

In this case, no crossing, the competitors leave the 2 buoys on their right and set off again in the opposite direction, pass buoy 2 again at Duingt, leaving it on the left, then go to the buoy of the junior course at the height of the castle of Duingt to then cross in the direction of the last buoy before the finish, at the bottom of the bay of Talloires (at the level of the Abbaye de Talloires). The finish line does not change and neither does the distance.

2023 short distance : 6.5 km

The short distance route is identical to that of the long distance up to the 2nd buoy (in front of the Clos Marcel hotel). At this buoy, the short distance competitors turn right to cross the lake towards Roc de Chère to reach Talloires bay. Total length: 6.5 km.

The routes may be modified if the weather conditions require it.

Very short distance : 3.5 km (for beginners)

A very short distance (3,5 km) to allow all technical levels to participate in the GlaGla Race. The start is at the same time and on the same line as the short and long distance! Prepare to experience magical moments on the lake!
