The weather conditions today were optimal: bright sunshine, temperature of -7°c in the morning and 2°c in the afternoon, no wind!
Unfortunately, the weather forecast announces a risk of fairly strong northerly winds (30 km/h) on Saturday… with cold temperatures and a maximum of 0°c in the afternoon and therefore a very cold feeling in the areas exposed to the wind. Remember to cover yourself well and protect your head and hands more than in 2022 or 2020.
We have planned an alternative route if these forecasts are confirmed to avoid having to make the 3 km crossing with a crosswind between Sevrier (NCY SUP) and Menthon Saint Bernard.
Alternative route for the long distance in the event of a North Bise
The choice will be made on the morning of the start, or even during the race, there may be a change of route. Buoy no. 3 in Sévrier, the last on the left bank of the lake before crossing to Menthon, could be modified and doubled with an inflatable yellow buoy.
In this case, no crossing, the competitors leave the 2 buoys on their right and set off again in the opposite direction, pass buoy 2 again at Duingt, leaving it on the left, then go to the buoy of the junior course at the height of the castle of Duingt to then cross in the direction of the last buoy before the finish, at the bottom of the bay of Talloires (at the level of the Abbaye de Talloires). The finish line does not change and neither does the distance.
